‘Murder in Blue Lake’ by A.C. Cooper

Murder in Blue Lake

When a young woman turns up dead in the small town of Blue Lake, police officer Jazz and her partner set out to track down the killer. But this is no ordinary crime scene and Jazz is no ordinary cop – if she isn’t careful she might find her place in the community in jeopardy. Can she solve the murder without compromising her situation?

This is a short story by Anita Cooper and while it starts off like a routine murder investigation, it soon takes an interesting and quirky turn. I loved Ms Cooper’s writing style – it’s smart and witty and her main character has an appealing voice. If you like your detective stories with a hint of weird, this is a great place to start.

Yeah, it’s a well-written story with the promise of more to come.
