‘Chasing Her Shadow’ by Joy Mutter

My Review (5 stars out of 5)

Actor Wilhelm Schreiber lives in London with his Italian wife and their sons. But the growing rivalry between siblings Wolfgang and Conrad, soon takes a dangerous turn.

I’ve read most of this author’s books so am familiar with her penchant for those classic literary themes, murder and lust. Set over several years, we follow the Schreiber family as they lie and cheat their way through various relationships, their obsessive personalities delving into betrayal, blackmail, and revenge. Teenage Wolfgang, for instance, becomes involved with X-rated horror star, Sadie, who gives the young man a thorough grounding in the ways of the flesh. Meanwhile, Wolfie’s sibling gets his hands on his brother’s phone and finds some incriminating videos…

As with Ms Mutter’s other books on similar themes, this is not for the feint hearted. Explicit content throughout.

An excellent review, Colin. I’ve read a few other reviews of books by Joy Mutter.
