Welcome to my Stop on the Blog Tour for My Devil and I, via Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources
These stories are sins – brief, potent, and cumulative. Each volume is intentionally designed to be read in a single sitting, delivering a complete, self-contained arc within a larger descent.
Dark. Seductive. Punishingly divine. When pleasure becomes a reckoning, the only way out is through sin itself. Once a year, under the blood moon, the veil thins – and the Devil walks among us. Cambridge graduate student Bella Thorne only wants to escape another cruel interaction with her classmates. Instead, she collides with Samir – beautiful, ancient, and entirely inhuman. He warns her to run. He warns her he only takes what’s already damned. But temptation has a will of its own. One touch becomes a bargain. One night becomes a haunting. And when she returns, she learns the truth: he isn’t here to ruin her. He’s here to claim her.
My Devil & Iis a fevered dark-romance about possession, power, and the dangerous kind of love that feels like freedom.
My Review (4 stars out of 5)
This is the first book in the Seven Gates series. It is a dark paranormal romance following our heroine, student Bella Thorne, as she gets caught up with the dangerous and morally dodgy Samir, whose history is somewhat murky.
The author includes a section at the beginning of the book listing possible ‘trigger’ warnings, including consensual dominance, emotional manipulation and obsession, which might put some readers off. Dark fantasy romance isn’t usually my sort of thing, but this one is intriguing. From Bella’s first encounter with the mysterious stranger in a graveyard, the story slides into the spookier side of gothic fantasy. It’s a fairly short read and can certainly be read in one sitting (though it took me longer). My only issue is I never really warmed to the author’s writing style, but that’s just me being fussy.
A darkly paranormal romance with plenty of gothic shenanigans to keep readers happy.

Author Bio
Rae Devine writes dark, carnal tales of temptation, surrender, and sin – where pleasure bites and pain seduces. She reads too much, gardens when she remembers, and has a weakness for good wine, bad ideas, and stories that dare to play with fire.
