The fifth book in Kathryn McMaster’s True Crime Press Series, tells the story of the killing of Reena Virk in British Columbia, Canada, in 1997. As with all the books in this series, Ms McMaster’s attention to detail and general handling of the material is exemplary, sensitively relating the lead up to and aftermath of this brutal murder.
A disturbing, yet very moving story that includes grisly details some readers may find disturbing.

You know, Colin, when I read of children behaving like this and not even accepting responsibility for their actions, I really wonder what has gone wrong in the world. I am going to get the first book in this series. Maybe it will bring understanding.

The cases in these book are truly heart-breaking and always bring tears to my eyes. In many cases though, it does seem to be a combination of poverty, peer-group pressure and mental health issues.
