My Review (4 stars out of 5)
Businessman Lewis Stone has a few issues with his business partner, but the firm’s Christmas party isn’t the place to thrash them out. Desperate to escape and try to enjoy the festive break, he jumps into his car and sets off for home. Having turned down the offer of a night of passion from a woman at the party, he suddenly changes his mind. But before he can head back, someone steps out in front of his car…
This is the tenth book I’ve read by this author, so I thought I knew what to expect. This one isn’t part of one of Owen Mullen’s many successful crime series (such as the Glass Family series, which I love), but a brand-new thriller. We get into the action early on as the character of Lewis finds himself in a whole heap of trouble when he quite literally collides with a member of the Kennedy family. While I enjoyed the book, the characters didn’t pull me into their stories as much as I’ve come to expect with this author and to be honest, I found it hard to like any of them. Also, the plot felt like it slowed down after the initial excitement and took a while to get going again. Nevertheless, it’s an entertaining read, if not one of his best.

An entertaining and thought provoking read.
